Introduction Edexcel BTEC Higher Nationals are designed to provide a specialist vocational programme, linked to professional body requirements and National Occupational Standards where appropriate. They offer a strong, sector-related emphasis on practical skills development alongside the development of requisite knowledge and understanding.
The qualifications provide a thorough grounding in the key concepts and practical skills required in their sector and their national recognition by employers allows direct progression to employment.
As a nested qualification the Level-4 HNC is an embedded component of the HND. The Edexcel BTEC Level 5 HND in Business provides opportunities for learners to apply their knowledge and practical skills in the workplace. Full-time learners have the opportunity to do this through formal work placements or part-time employment experience.
Course Structure The following units consisting of 240 credits must be achieved

Part-2 No Unit Title 13. Personal and Professional Development 14. Working with and Leading People 15. Managing Business Activities to Achieve Results 16. Managing Communications, Knowledge and Information 32. Quality Management in Business 42. Project Management for Business 45. Business Ethics 8. Research Project
Duration The Edexcel BTEC Level 5 HND will require approximately 960 guided learning hours (GLH) and is offered with duration of either 24 Months Full-Time or 36 months Part-Time basis.
Assessment Assessments are assignment based.
Entry Requirements The Edexcel BTEC Higher National qualifications are accredited on the QCF for learners aged 18 years and over.
